The Schenck Process Blending System is the ideal solution for reducing CO2 emissions, lowering energy costs, and providing operational flexibility in cement manufacturing. Positioning two Schenck Process MULTICOR® Mass Flow Meters one over the top of the other provides a system, which accurately measures additives such as fly ash, CKD and/or slag in the upper unit and then meters them into the lower unit. A separate inlet in the lower unit receives cement, which is thoroughly mixed with the additives being received from the upper unit. This process eliminates the need for a high energy mixer while reducing the amount of CKD destined for land fills as the fly ash, slag, and CKD are reclaimed and blended into finished product. Operational flexibility is increased as on demand blending is possible with the Schenck system. Operational flexibility is increased as on demand blending is possible with the Schenck system.  The ability to blend fly ash, CKD, slag, and pozzolans provides the flexibility to produce different blends while minimizing storage silo needs.  Additionally, the finish mill can be used for grinding and not mixing or blending.  The result is more efficient grinding and a consistent blend and particle size versus introducing CKD, fly ash, and other materials into the mill.    Cement manufacturers also receive the added benefit of continuous metering of blended cement directly into the truck for shipment.  No more batch blending, storing or load out is required.
